Mary was employed at Architectural Digest Magazine under Paige Rense's guidance after obtaining her degree in photography. Then she created her own Mary Finds' section. She created videos for interior design and renovation. Then, she moved back to Texas and started her own company with the same name. A&E Television producers spotted her as she was running her antiques business and offered her a role in Texas' version of Storage Wars. The show ran three seasons. Because of her fame, she got a role in the show's original Storage Wars in its fifth season. Storage Wars seasons 5-12 have seen her appear on-and-off on the show.
